Keeping Drinking Water Clean, Please
Pollution is one of the major problems in the modern world. Water pollution has become more serious now.
Recently, an event of blue-green algae of TaiHu Lake was reported again. The algae have not affected water safety, but there should be a threat to the drinking water source of the city of Wuxi. Current” red tide” in southwest Florida was reported, too. Some red tide organisms produce large quantities of toxins which badly damage fishery. People throw billions of tons of waster water into rivers, lakes and seas every day. As temperature rise polluted water causes the event of blue-green algae and the red tide.
People all over the world are paying more attention to industrial waster water because expanding industries will produce large volume of waster water that might contain chemicals which are noxious or ion-rich. In fact, there are another two reasons for water pollution of TaiHu Lake. One is urban wasters. Our rapidly expanding population will increase primarily sewage around TaiHu lake area. Some living waster water can’t be treated well. Another reason is agricultural waster water which incloud nitrogen and phosphates from fertilizers. These waster water can be used for plants to decrease waster water which were thrown into lake. Industries waster water must be treated to decrease their pollution hazard, and a part of wasters permit the reuse of them in agriculture. Many industries may make former waster products into marketable byproducts.
As a chemical company we should do explore potential; economic uses for our waste water. We can expect resident drink clean water under the leadership of the government.
