A German banker has been sent to prison for two years and 10 months. Because he was stealing money from rich clients to help poor ones.
The 45-old banker held a senior position at a saving bank.He found that some clients were poor, so he put rich people's money into their accounts. But then he lost track of the money and forgot where it was coming from. This went on for five years. The man took 2.1 million euros($2.79 million) in all. He stopped the scheme in January 2006, and turned himself over to police.
A spokeswoman for the court said, the man hadn't used the money to enrich himself. So the German media called him a modern day Robin Hood.
