Having finished the text entitled “ the last leaf ”, I was totally lost in thought . in the past , though I had learned that the spiritual power could help a patient combat the evil of illness , never ever had i imagined its power would be so forceful that it could even send the severe illness such as pneumonia away . when reading of the scene in which Johnsy was invigorated by the last persistent leaf clinging sturdily to the ivy vine , I was deeply affected by the painstaking of Sue and Behrman and simultaneously astounded at the potency of the inspiring spirits .
Therefore , never shall we neglect our mood and attitudes towards life . maintaining a joyful heart will help you build up an invisible immune fence , keeping various diseases outdoor . you know , the waked disease is merciless to the people he invades , subtracting your energy away and leaving you fragile physically till your life comes to an end . he will not live in tune with your body but will claim your life brutally . so at this crucial moment , if your heart is filled with softness and sigh dimly towards the future , then your funeral precession is on the way soon . on the contrary , if you stand up steadily and confront the disease stoutly , then probably the final triumph will belong to you . when a terrible illness stalks around you , even attacks you , you should stay calm and hold the belief firmly that there is still hope biding ahead .
In fact , we are quite familiar with this kind of spirit , this is optimism . but it is just too difficult for us to fulfill it . it verifies properly the old saying that it is easier said than done . some common wisdoms are rooted deeply in my mind , but when the specific situation comes , we become lost and lose our reason . for instance , we all know optimism is the best curative remedy to some terminally ill patients , but at knowing the diagnose , all the medicines work little on them and
they are soon killed not by the illness but by their tremendous fears towards the illness . how pathetic !
