When talking with me about the security of our present society, my mum will always frown and utter a deep sigh. She tells me that in the past when chairman Mao governed China , our society was filled with peace and quietness , with which people almost had no idea about what theft was . numerous households were free from the concept to avoid being stolen or robbed . instead , their doors were on the latch most of the day , even on deep night or when all the members were out . prostitution and gambling were also inhibited seriously . the laws at that time were terribly harsh and punished the criminals who committed those crimes mentioned above fiercely , which was powerful enough to alert all the potential criminals .
However , it is a different story now . that period of time has become our beautiful memories which we have been longing to date with again all the time . nowadays the security of our society has become really a great concern to all of us . when we are out , we must lock our doors tightly and firmly , in order to keep the possible burglars outside . the padlock seems much weaker in front of the thieves , which is being abandoned by our modern people . we prefer to use dead-bolt lock to give a better secure fence to our houses . even wonderfully , some money bags show great affection for adopting a kind of tough door which can only be open with passwords . or they just give the priority to a higher-technology-contained door called “ fingerprint door “ , which can only recognize the owner’s fingerprint . nevertheless， however advanced your secure system or alarming system is , you still cannot escape from being the target of the burglar . And all kinds of burglaries are reported every day , only to make you even more anxious. So even the most advanced technology cannot protect your house from being patronized by the evil totally.
Theft is just a minor part of the security problems in our society . there are many more social evils difficult to root out waiting ahead , such as robbery , gun killing , rape and so on , all of which are of great threat to human life . no matter where we go , we always pay great attention to the things we take with us . many ladies have put their handbags away , which will probably be the targets evils are aimed at . still more , when fooling around the street , you may also observe that few women wear shining golden necklaces or earrings , which may probably say goodbye to them forever if they were exposed to the public . in addition , most of us are not as enthusiastic towards the people around as we used to be . or to put it more exactly , we just bury our enthusiasm deep down in our hearts and are just averse to register it . why ? it is simply just because we are afraid of being taken in. a stranger who consults you the way may turn out to be a fraud who intends to mislead you to a strange place and robs you of all your money . so now many people are not willing to talk with strangers , not to mention showing the way to him . no one is pleased to be a victim .so if you are a stranger to others and never talk with your neighbors , though you have been living oppositely within several meters for almost ten years .
Sometimes I cannot help sighing at our over-sensitive protection of ourselves that has become a great obstacle between individuals . we just look upon the other folks as kind of potential wicked people whom we should always steer clear from . suspicion builds up an invisible wall between our hearts , making sincere heart-to-heat talk out of the question . we are always anticipating love from others , but are just too mean to give it . how pathetic !
In my viewpoint , I think it is really sinful to just concentrate on thinking of others’ awful intention before you really make sure of it . self-protection awareness is doubtless essential , but it does not necessarily mean that we should look at all the people with suspicious expression . indifference cannot shorten the distance between our hearts but lengthen . only by trying to assume most people are kind-hearted and treat everyone with sincerity can you acquire warm and deep relationship ! |
