学完第一单元的英语课文,我整个人都怔住了.伟大的人物只因一时的考虑不周而永无翻身之日,伟大的胜利也会因一时的过于自信而变成一场恶梦!或许在成功面前保持更多的理智与谨慎,保持更多的不骄不躁,才能够让成功得以延续.凡事做好周密的考虑,留下退路,或许更好!不要不迷信绝处必能逢生,那只是对无奈的绝望者的一种安慰.能够让自己不死的,只有自己对别人的仁爱与关怀.

Having learned the text entitled “ the icy defender”, I could not help sinking into thought. The text depicts to us the stories about two prominent dictators during the second world war, Napoleon and Hitler.
In 1812, Napoleon assembled a strong army of 600 000 men on the border of Russia , commencing a seemingly triumphal thrust to Russia and conquering the whole Europe continent. All went quite smoothly at the beginning and napoleon seemed to see the dawn light of the victory. The Russian army retreated all the way , letting French army press on straight to Moscow , the capital then for Russia. However, after closing in on Moscow , everything became another story. The smart Russian people abandoned the city decisively and scorched two thirds of the city without hesitation after leaving the city. They left no chance to the enemies to draw on their food or houses. Napoleon soon realized he could not feed, clothe , and quarter his soldiers. Hence , he decided to withdraw the army , leading them back to French . nevertheless, the Russian people seized this great opportunity and stole a counterattack. They launched hit-and-run tactic, assaulting their opponents both physically and psychologically. Furthermore , another accident emerged, bringing napoloen’s fate to a halt. Endless icy snow kept falling down, lowering the temperature to minus 48 degrees Celsius. Napoleon’s soldiers took ill and froze to death. All the artillery got stuck by the snow. The surviving soldiers dragged on. Through thick and thin , they finally landed on the homeland. Howbeit, napoleon’s great ambition was sheerly extinguished and he could never bide his time.
Though napoloen’s failure become widely known, not every general afterwards would draw a lesson from it. Hitler fell into another victim following napoleon. Of course , Learning all the famous stories and people , I benefit tremendously. I come to realize that, not just in battlefield, but also in everything you do , particularly in some big events , before you act , you should fully reckon with all kinds of elements that you need to accomplish your task. Never shall we think something will be definitely there and thus neglect it. As the saying goes , a miss is as good as a mile. Some slighting small factors may determine the overall success.
finally , Hitler’s expecting quick win turned out to be his suicide with a gun. |
