昨天晚上耗了将近三个小时,终于把风险管理课上的关于"合规"课题的论文发给左瑞做PPT,真是累垮了!
和左瑞搭档做课题,两个人分工合作,先各自找资料,最后把资料全发给我让我来筛选汇总,然后把最后成果交给他做PPT,最后再两个人一起研究改进,现在我的工作暂时告一段落了,接下来要辛苦他做精美的PPT了,呵呵.
下午遇到左瑞,他对我说我整理的论文"很赞"时,我真的觉得很高兴,因为之前还担心他不满意,现在完全放心了!
找资料是件很痛苦的事,之前找了两个多小时选了几十页的材料,又要一页一页地看最后选出有用的理论与案例,然后要编排,最后才把工作把完.眼睛都快不行了.不过现在完成了,我觉得很自豪.毕竟在找资料和选资料的过程中,我的确学到了不少东西!
下面这篇文章既是给一个同学参考,也是我准备上交给老师的论文作业,也写了一个半小时了.跟着教授进行写作学习真的不容易,有时自己想放松,可是却不能,因为每周都要上交二千字以上的文章.这样算一算,一个学期下来我要写15周的论文,自己居然要写30000词以上的文章了,再加上最后期末的五千词还有自己的多愁善感,就有40000词以上了.练习倒是做足了,不知进步了多少,呵呵!
现在又要开始忙着准备六级了.虽然自己并不担心不过,可是这次毕竟是大学里和全部同学一起进行的一次大规模的英语考试了,所以还是要考好点.再加上上次四级考得不太满意,这次决心要把所有的遗憾弥补回来!呵呵!

Topic: is progress always good to human society?
Since the existence of human, we have been evolving all the way through with painstaking efforts. Originally human presented themselves in the form of pithecanthrope that could merely resort to the branches or sticks of trees to hunt for their food. They were coated with leaves to withstand the rough and bleak winter, struggling with nature for survival. With extremely simplified instruments and tousy habitats, they could barely get enough food and the average life span was exceedingly short.
Then human beings managed to walk with feet without the aids of hands. It was really a revolutionary progression for human development! Another U-turn revolution was the figuring out of the way to make fire with the assistance of which ancient human beings could enjoy cooked food, which enormously strengthened their constitution and lengthened their life span! Moreover, the fire could also keep some dangerous animals like wolves away from assaulting human beings.
Up to now, we human beings have toiled away into a highly-developed civilization that endows us with unprecedented material and spiritual enjoyment! Any of us can downright sense the peerless advantages progression brings to us!
However, is progress always doing good to us without the slightest harm? I suppose not! Actually, the topic does really invoke one of my deepest concern towards our society. Now let me share with you.
With the rapid progress of our technology, economy, culture, etc, innumerable issues are also gradually floating to surface. Undoubtedly the great advance of technology is indeed enriching the availability of goods and commodities we need! We can appreciate ever-abundant products than any time before! As a saying goes, technology is the first productivity. Hence it tremendously pushes our economy to one-after-anther culmination that implies the soaring living standard of our citizens! Whereas, we are facing more severe problems presently than we did in any period in the past! Along with the increasing productivity of our factories is the crazily growing amount of pollutants and wastes that were injected into our environment! Purely blue sky and lucid water are totally a luxury to us and we may scarcely witness them again! Now we just feel like bathing in a foul lake that is full of dusty and smelly air instead of water! What we are breathing is killing ourselves chronically soundlessly! With the progress of technology and economy is the declining quality of our living surroundings!
While the fast growing economy is on the way, it needs more and more resources and raw materials. Thereby it is no wonder to see severe deforestation and over-mining of our resources as well as the unlimited prey and poaching of wild animals! The utilization of coal or fuel will inevitably emit a large amount of harmful gases that intensify the greenhouse effect and trigger acid rain. That is why our average temperature on earth is rising all the time and our historical buildings are being eroded speedily! If the temperature continues going up, the ice covering the Antarctic and Arctic will melting and the sea level will be rising which may flood and swamp the coastal cities.
All I mention above is just a drop in the ocean. The amount of issues we are confronting is far beyond our imagination, some of which may menace our human beings’ existence directly. Hence we can deeply sense the negative impact of the progress! Progress is actually a two-edge sword, which, if not aptly dealt with, may pose great threat to our society! Thereby when we are feeling proud of our constantly progressing, we should also be aware of its negative influences and sidewalk them! Only by doing so can progress better serve our human and wheel our society forward! |
