Say this for Mark Sanford — when the time comes to apologize, he puts his heart into it. After vanishing from his state for six days, the South Carolina governor reappeared on June 24 and confessed that he had not been away hiking the Appalachian Trail, as his staff originally claimed, but instead visiting an Argentine lover with whom he had been conducting an affair for more than a year. "I've been unfaithful to my wife" — and tearfully asking for forgiveness. The months since have not been kind to Sanford. Embarrassing e-mails with his paramour surfaced, his wife moved out, and his approval ratings tanked. His estranged wife Jenny has managed to fare somewhat better. As the New York Times recently detailed, she has applied to trademark her name to sell home goods, is writing a memoir and will appear in December on a Barbara Walters TV special. Some even envision her as her husband's replacement in the governor's mansion. 1、 “Appalachian Trail”-------“阿巴拉契亚小道”。阿帕拉契亚是南北横贯美国大陆，地处美国东部高地的一条不太高的山脉，一般海拔500—1500米，南起美国的阿拉巴马州，北至加拿大的纽芬兰，全长3200公里，是北美洲主要休闲地区之一。从缅因州的卡塔丁山，延伸至乔治亚州的斯普林格(Springer)山，沿着山脊有一条步行小路，为徒步旅行者提供了观赏阿帕拉契山系的大看台。这条小道就是著名的“阿帕拉契亚小道”。步行一段路程，就有一个出口，你可以下走下山来，乘车前行。
