The day after tomorrow
Most of us have formed an unrealistic picture of life on Earth in the future. We sometimes imagine it to be a sort of paradise where the sun always shines. Life then will be simple and good. Machines will do everything for us and we don’t have to work. However, such is not the case. The Day After Tomorrow is a 2004 American apocalyptic science-fiction film which talks about a look at what the world would look like if the greenhouse effect and global warming continue.
The environmental protection is the most major problem which in the modern life the humanity faces. It’s brought to the spotlight gradually. More and more people start to take action. As a result, more and more films are being created. The Day After Tomorrow must be one of the most impressive one. The terrible disaster gave rise to horror and panic among people. There was a touch of sadness overwhelmed my heart when I finished watching this film. It not only pleased my eyes but shocked me emotionally. Such is the condition that people are always assuming that our natural resources are infinite.
Nature provides us with beautiful views. It never fails to fascinate human beings. It can be friendly and affectionate towards humans. However, it leads its mysteries as well. People are dim about many mysteries in the world. The truth is that many mysteries are in the darkness. It’s possible that they may come to light one day. There are times when I am convinced that everything will come to an end. It is also known that some ways of using resources recklessly can destroy the environment as well as the people living in it. As a saying goes, what’s done can’t be undone. Is it too late for us to wake up from being ignorant? Can we approach the end? Time will tell.
Modern communications make it possible for us to get in touch with anyone at anytime. We posses more materials than we used to do, but we are less happy than we used to be. Our buildings get closer than they used to do, but our hearts move further than ever before. We are losers. There’s no denying of the fact that we do everything in return for something. We love in return for being loved. We study in return for knowledge. Then, what can we get by destroying the nature, the crying plants or the dying animals? We are always trying to get more. Nevertheless, as a matter of fact, we gain nothing except the crying Earth, the weeping shores.
Each coin has two sides. There are so many environmental problems in the world today while the economy grows stronger. What shall we do, to solve them or to leave the world in a mess? We shall focus more on environmental problems than on economic development. People should take a solid step in the cooperation of the issues of the mankind ecological environment. |
