灵魂的工程师, 还是 魔鬼?

最近, 在江苏省发生的"7名幼儿因上课说话被老师用熨斗烫伤"事件在社会上传得沸沸扬扬,网上关于该事件的评论更是多得数不胜数.事情的始末是这样的:一个幼儿园的老师在上课时要求下面的学生不准说话,并且拿出电烫斗进行威胁,声称谁说话就烫谁.不料,下面有些幼儿忍不住说了几句话,最后被老师用电烫斗烫伤了脸,有些伤势特别严重,医生表示康复后可能会留下疤痕,也就是我们俗称的"破相".一共有七名幼儿身受其害.而受害的儿童受到老师的威胁,不敢告知其父母,而只是说在厕所摔倒跌伤的.老师的解释亦是如此.可是最后还有是些同学讲出了内幕,真相才公告于众.
看完这则新闻,同时看到那些可怜的孩子脸上红得刺眼的伤痕,我除了感到无比震惊外,更多的是感到痛心与开慨叹!我们常说:"教师是人类灵魂的工程师."然而在这个事件中,"工程师"变成了魔鬼,成为那7名幼儿永生的恶梦.暂且不论那是天真无邪的幼儿, 就算是小学高年级的学生,我也想不出有任何理由为那个老师的残酷行为辩解.那是个电烫斗,不是一把板尺;那是一个电烫斗,不是一根竹片!难道那个老师没有想过把火辣辣的电烫斗贴在孩子脸上会有什么后果?诚然,老师要求学生上课不要讲话是正确的,但是那毕竟是五六岁的幼儿,他们懂什么?他们根本不明白这么多道理,他们只是率性而行.作为老师,应该对他们谆谆教导,循循善诱,让他们慢慢懂得了为学之道,而不是动不动就体罚,甚至变相体罚!
老师固然犯下大错,难以让人宽恕,然而有关部门的一些做法,真的让我不敢恭维!事情发生以后,家长们都愤怒难当,要求有关部门给一个说法!经过调查发现,那个"老师"居然只是一个没有证的社会人员,是幼儿园为了节省成本而随便招来的,据说仅仅只有初中文化水平.试问这样的人如何能成为一名合格的教师?暂且不论其品格如何,单是教学水平肯定是大打折扣,为什么幼儿园的管理人员会聘请这样的人?难道为了获利就可以牺牲儿童的学业发展?要不是因为这件事情把这个内幕曝光,恐怕不久整个幼儿园的"工程师"都变成初中甚至只有小学文化的社会人员了,相信到时整个学校的成本达到最低点,而学校的所有者盈利最高,哪怕幼儿只是在里面像无头苍蝇一样瞎学!当地的教育部门在规范当地的教育机构时是怎么实施其监督和审查的?这真的是群众们脑子里的一个大问号.
另外好戏还在后头.当家长们要求有关部门和政府给公众一个交待时,当地政府不久就发表声明,内容大致如下:该老师在用烫斗烫孩子时,该烫斗已经被拔下一段时间,所以她以为不再烫了,本想吓唬孩子,谁知烫斗依然处于高温之中,所以纯属无心之失!当我看完这段声明时,我真的有一种欲笑无声,欲哭无泪的感觉!那个老师以为烫斗不烫了?就算再蠢的人也明白这个理由是多么的牵强!首先,有好几个孩子两个脸颊都被烫伤,这分明是实行两次酷刑所导致的.而如果那个老师刚开始以为烫斗不烫了,怎么烫伤孩子一边的脸以后,还要再烫另一侧脸?再者,为什么老师连烫了七个孩子的脸以后才发现"原来烫斗是处于高温之中"的?更讽刺的是,如果老师真的是无心之失,在烫伤第一个孩子的脸以后就应该立即把他送往医院,而不是再烫多六个学生后再威吓他们不准告诉父母伤口的真正由来!幼儿园的管理人员和老师忽悠大众也就算了,当地政府,不仅不正视事件的真相,惩处有关的人员,却也来掺和歪曲真相,能不让人义愤填膺吗?我不敢说大众都是聪明人,但起码不是傻瓜!当然相关部门为什么不愿意揭露真相,我想群众们只要稍微思考一下也就清楚了,在此也不再多说.
然而事情并没有就此了解.经过一番"调查"与"审讯",公安局对该教师依法作出行政拘留10日,并罚款500元的处罚决定.这个结果一公布,立即在社会和网上掀起轩然大波.大众们不禁质问:烫伤七个孩子的脸,有些孩子可能面临毁容的风险,处罚就仅仅是"拘留10日,罚款500"?这样的处罚真的让人感到非常失望,原来犯这类罪的代价是如此低的,看来以后某个老师看学生不顺眼,想好好教训他一顿,真的是轻而易举,只要在课室里备个烫斗,看哪个学生不顺眼就烫过去,事后再说一句"处罚学生时以后烫斗不热了",再进去拘留所住个十天八天,掏出几百块钱给公安局,一切也就完事.从此以后,哪个学生都不敢再逆自己的意思了!难怪网上也有网友这样评论:"罚500?这样吧,我出600来烫一下那个老师的脸!我只烫一个人本来不用500的!" 
根据有关法律专家的意见,这名幼儿园老师伤害了7名孩子,到底是行政拘留还是刑事拘留抑或是更严重的刑罚,应当是值得认真对待的。依据法规,行政拘留适用于严重违反治安管理但不构成犯罪,而警告、罚款处罚不足以惩戒的情况。在这起事件中,7名幼儿受伤,其中两人伤势严重,是否留疤还未有定论,而此事给幼儿留下的心理伤害短期也是难以化解的。但是为什么当地的公安局如此草草了案?背后的内幕,相信读者们早已不明而喻,在这里我也不想多谈!
突然发现,现在这个社会,以假乱真的本领还真的层出不穷,"化险为夷"的功夫还真的让人眼花缭乱,应接不暇.然而有本领和功夫是不够的,关键在于本领够强,功夫够高,这样才可以蒙骗芸芸大众.否则只会欲盖弥彰,招人笑柄!另外,也正是因为这些本领和功夫的存在,才助长了那些歪风邪气,使得社会风气迟迟得不到净化.闭目沉思,有几个问题浮现脑际:灵魂的工程师?还是灵魂的魔鬼?人民的公仆?还是人民的霸主?

Methodology of Compiling Learning Journal
To complete my learning journal, I have adopted a variety of methods and drawn on a vast amount of materials and data acquired in diverse ways. But foremost is the choice of themes of IBM module. After reviewing all the themes we have discussed this semester, I decide to choose the three most impressive themes to me that would be the key areas discussed in my learning journal. They are: Culture, International HRM and Ethics. The reason I choose these three themes to fulfill my learning journal is that I have the deepest and most profound understanding of these three themes among all. Moreover, I am particularly interested in the study of these three areas and want to know more about them by further studying in the future. These can be best illustrated in the learning journal later.  
After settling the themes, I moved on to search all the resources I have in hand to prepare and compile my learning journal. The following part is to present the process of compiling my learning journal combined with listing all the sources I have used:
1)        Diary Entry. As instructed by the lecture, we must keep a diary entry after each session every week. The diary entry is indeed used to record the new knowledge we have learnt in class, and more importantly to record our new or deeper understanding of certain issues and our changing perspectives towards international business management. Therefore, before I put my pen to paper, I reviewed my diary entries again and delicately selected the most impressive and reflective extracts that would be put into my learning journal. Some paragraphs in my diary entries may be too lengthy in elaborating on certain issues. Considering the length of the learning journal is limited, I have rephrased them to concise and reflective extracts.
2)        Session Slides and Notes. In every session, the lecture would present us with a set of slides that closely related to the content of our textbook and the journal articles. Instead of simply copying the main points in the textbook and journal articles, the lecture had indeed put a wealth of extra contents and enlightening questions in the slides that would further deepen our understanding of the IBM issues discussed. I have taken some notes in class about certain issues the lecturer guided us to probe before. Therefore, session slides and notes are a good source for completing my learning journal. According to the themes I have chosen for my learning journal, I came back to relevant slides and notes and reviewed them carefully again. Then I selected the most impressive points for me and noted down my new, deeper or changed understanding about them. This also constitutes a significant part of my learning journal.
3)        Journal Articles and Journal Article Review. The lecturer would give us several journal articles to read every week. These articles were closely related to the theme discussed in class and could tremendously broaden our horizon in IBM knowledge. Also we were required to write 3 journal article reviews during this semester. Hence, I drew on the journal articles and reviews to a great extent to complete my learning journal.
4)        Seminars. Since the fourth session, we had a seminar for every week. A group of 5-6 students would do the presentation concerning a case given by the lecturer. I have taken some notes regarding the issues discussed and analyzed in the presentation. So I would further manage and enrich my notes before I wrote the journal. I would select the most illuminating points and notes and put them in my learning journal.
5)        Group Discussion. As I also had to prepare a seminar with my group mates, we met four times before the seminar and discussed the case. During this process, on top of writing down my ideas, I also took note of what my teammates proposed, especially those innovative and creative ideas that I appreciated very much. Also we needed to write four group case summaries and analysis. Therefore, all these ideas and analysis could also contribute to the completion of my learning journal.
After carefully selecting what I should put in my learning journal, I had to manage them in order and compile them in the journal. After the whole journal was finished, I have read it through and made revision where needed. Finally, I again reviewed the whole journal and finalized it.
Of course, during this process, I have encountered some difficulties as follows:
1)        When I began taking diary entry for the first week as instructed by the lecturer, I was very confused about how to do it. I turned to the assignment details in the blackboard and tried to accomplish it based on my initial understanding. But with time passing by and my understanding of IBM deepening, I had more to put into my diary entries and gradually got the hang of how to keep diary entries.
2)        While reviewing my diary entries and selecting the most impressive extracts, I had to rephrase some paragraphs to make them more concise and to the point. Due to the length limit of the learning journal, I could not put the whole paragraph into it. Therefore, rephrasing the key points in my diary entries posed a great challenge to me.
3)        Though I had taken a lot of notes during class, in group discussion and in reading journal articles, when I came back to them again for the sake of learning journal, I forgot the meaning of some of the notes. For instance, I may forget the meaning of some concepts or the meaning of some sentences I had taken note of in the past. Hence, in order to recall my memory about them, I had to resort to the textbook and the journal articles again. But if I still could not figure out the problems after reading the relevant chapters and journal articles, I would send emails to my classmates for help. Normally, someone would give me the answers.
During the process of preparing and compiling my learning journal, in order to conquer all the difficulties I met, I have adopted a variety of methods to accomplish my work, such as reviewing the textbooks and journal articles, referring to my notes, discussing with my classmates and searching the internet for more information. All these contributed to the finalization of my learning journal.
