We thought Lady Gaga's dress for the VMA last year was the beginning and end of the meat-as-material trend. But a student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California has taken the idea to new heights by refashioning the Chanel 2.55 bag in beef jerky. Nancy Wu, who describes her creation as 'lo-fi', hand-stitched sheets of the dried meat together before adding a chain handle and interlocking CC logo.
在去年的VMA颁奖礼上，流行歌坛“大姐大”百变天后Lady Gaga身穿弗兰克·费尔南德斯（Franc Fernandez）设计的“生肉装”亮相，成为全场焦点，此举引来动物权益保护组织PETA的不满与抗议。原本嘎嘎小姐“领衔”的这个时尚界“牛肉事件”会让牛肉与时尚之间划下一个圆满的句号，但是事实却是离结束还有很长的距离，嘎嘎小姐带头引发的“牛肉效应”竟然有绵延不绝的趋势。据悉，一位在帕萨迪纳时尚设计学校就读的学生借用嘎嘎小姐的点子，“创造出”用牛肉干做“原料”制成的仿造香奈儿2.55版包包让时尚界“大跌眼镜”，据悉学生Nancy Wu称她的作品为“低保真”作品，原料有：手工刺绣的风干牛肉干、外加香奈儿的金色标志图案，以及金色手袋绳。

设计师学生Nancy Wu称她的作品为“低保真”作品，原料有：手工刺绣的风干牛肉干、外加香奈儿的金色标志图案，以及金色手袋绳，仿造版本为香奈儿2.55经典系列。
Miss Wu has even stamped the jerky with a criss-cross pattern to mimic the designer bag's quilted leather, though the effect is more akin to vintage snakeskin than the famous stitching. Also among her beef jerky designs is a Louis Vuitton wallet.
据悉，用风干牛肉做成的香奈儿包包并不是学生设计师Nancy Wu唯一的作品，国际大牌路易·威登也是该设计师手下的另外一个经典制作：她还用手工的“方格压制”了与LV相仿的蛇皮钱包系列，从外表上看绝对能够以假乱真。
