A lawyer's dog, running about unleashed, beelines for (直奔）a butcher shop and steals a roast. Butcher goes to lawyer's office and asks, "if a dog running unleashed steals a piece of meat from my store, do I have a right to demand payment for the meat from the dog's owner?" The lawyer answers, "Absolutely."
"Then you owe me $8.50. Your dog was loose and stole a roast from me today."
The lawyer, without a word, writes the butcher a check for$8.50.
Several days later the butcher opens the mail and finds an envelope from the lawyer: $20 due for a consultation.
律师的狗没拴住到处乱跑，闯进当地一家肉铺叼走一块烤肉。
肉贩跑到律师事务所问：“假如有条放出来乱跑的狗，从我店里偷了块肉走，那我有权为这块肉向狗主人索赔吗？”
“当然啦。”律师答道。
“那你得给我8块5，今天你的狗没管好，叼走我一块烤肉。”
二话没说，律师就给肉贩开了张8.5元的支票。
过了几天，肉贩打开邮箱，发现有封律师函：应付咨询费20元。
