The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs
A man had a goose that laid eggs of solid gold. Every day she produced an egg, so that the man found he was rich. After a while he grew impatient with waiting for his daily golden egg, so he seized the goose and killed her, thinking that he would find the source of the gold within her body. But he discovered that inside she was no different from any other goose, and of course she never laid another golden egg.
Implication:
Be content with what you have. If you are too greedy you may lose everything.
