He had it bad.” “So, what did you do for him?” asked the first farmer. “Well, I dosed him good with a half pint of linseed oil, a tablespoon of turpentine, and three tablespoons of castor oil.”
A few days later, the two farmers met again. The first farmer asked his friend, “Didn’t you tell me you gave your horse a half pint of linseed oil, a tablespoon of turpentine, and three tablespoons of castor oil?” The second said, “Yes, I sure did!” The first farmer exclaimed, “I thought that’s what you said, but when I gave it to my horse, he died!” And the friend said, “Of course! Mine did, too!”
俩农民朋友碰巧遇上，一个问说：“你的马不是得过瘟疫么？”
朋友回答说：“是呀，得过！病得不轻呢。”
“那你怎么治的呀？”
“这个呀，我给他整整灌了半品脱亚麻籽油、一大勺松节油和三大勺蓖麻油。”
过了几天，这俩农民又碰上了。先前那个又问这朋友：“你是跟我说你给马喂了半品脱亚麻籽油、一大勺松节油和三大勺蓖麻油吧？”
朋友说：“没错，我就是这么干的！”头一个农民叫起来：“我就记得你是那么说的嘛，可我给马喂完以后，它死了！”这个朋友说：“那肯定的嘛！我的也死啦！”
