"Hey Willis!!" the farmer yelled, "Forget your troubles. Come in with us. Then I'll help you get the wagon up." "That's mighty nice of you, “Willis answered, "but I don't think Pa would like me to." "Aw, come on," the farmer insisted. "Well okay," the boy finally agreed, and added, "but Pa won't like it."
After a hearty dinner, Willis thanked his host and said, "I feel a lot better now, but I know Pa is going to be real upset." "Don't be foolish," the neighbor said with a smile, "by the way, where is he?" "Under the wagon."
有个农村半大小子像是没留神把一推车玉米给弄翻了，住附近的一村民听见了动静。
“嘿，威利斯！”村民叫他，“甭愁这事了，进我家歇会儿，完了我帮你把车支好。”“那太好了，”威利斯说，“可我觉得我爸不愿意我这么干。”“得哩，进来吧。”村民一劲儿劝。“那好吧，”男孩最后答应了，跟着又来一句，“不过我爸会不高兴的。”
美美地撮了一顿后，威利斯谢过了主人说：“现在我感觉好多了，可我知道我爸真会生气的。”“别傻了，”邻居笑着说，“咱就说，他人在哪儿呢？”“压推车下边呢。”
