A preacher is buying a parrot.
"Are you sure it doesn't scream, yell, or swear?" asked the preacher.
"Oh absolutely. It's a religious parrot," the storekeeper assures him.
"Do you see those strings on his legs? When you pull the right one, he recites the lord's prayer, and when you pull on the left he recites the 23rd Psalm."
"Wonderful!" says the preacher, "but what happens if you pull both strings?"
"I fall off my perch, you stupid fool!" screeched the parrot.
“你保证它不会尖叫大喊或是骂人吗？”教士问。
“嗯，绝对保证。这是只信教的鹦鹉，”店主让他放心，“瞧见拴在它两条腿上的细绳了么？你扯右脚那根，它就背诵主祷文；扯左脚那根，它就背诵第23篇赞美诗。”
“太好啦！”教士说，“可要是两根绳一块儿扯，会怎么样呢？”
“我就从木杆上掉下去了啦，你个傻老帽儿！”那只鹦鹉尖声喊道。
