昨天早上11点40分考完BEC以后，所有考场的考生都出奇的安静，大家只能带着无奈的心情离开考场。考试每一部分都不简单，最后一部分是听力，更是让人欲哭无泪。本来上次中级听力做得不好，我在很早准备高级时就一直有目的地经常地练习听力，听力光盘一个接一个地听，听力原稿一遍遍地读，可是到了最后考试，依然让人失望。它读得像飞一样那么快，不过快对我来讲不是主要的问题，主要是有些词的发音和我们平时读的是不一样的，就有点像方言一样，另外它有很多连读，这在高级更加明显。还有就是，它有些词发音很轻，尤其是介词，以致于你还没反应过来听力就过去了，让你摸不着头脑。总之一句话，听力要是可以考高分的人是我最佩服的人了，呵呵
下午3点半考完口语了，感觉自己发挥得也很一般。这次抽中的话题居然比上次难了好多，让我一下子无所适从，可是还好，我还是利用一分钟的准备时间沉下心来组织好了才发表讲话。互动讨论那部分和师兄搭配得还好，顺利完成了任务。但是后续的问题我觉得自己答得好像有点不太满意，也不知道是什么原因。不过不考都考了，现在就静静等待让人担忧的结果吧，呵呵！
晚上弄完英语角，回到宿舍收拾一下BEC的书。突然才发现，自己关于BEC的书居然是这么多。题目都有五六本。真题啊，模拟题啊，专项练习啊，看到头都晕。另外还有好几本教材，还有精读泛读的书。最后整理好了，厚厚的像一座小山。面对着这座小山，我的感情好复杂好复杂，复杂得难以形容。一方面我很喜悦，因为辛苦准备了这么久，天天都要对着商务英语的文章听力，现在BEC高级终于考完了！这座小山既是我努力的证明，也是我知识增长的证明，怎么会不让人喜悦呢？另一方面，我感到沉重与不舍，因为考试考完了，接下来的日子可能就不会去看它了，要准备期末考了。它就像是我一个老朋友，一个无论我喜忧悲欢都日夜陪伴我的情人，现在突然一下子告诉我说我的试考完了暂时要和它说再见了，一种强烈的不舍瞬间蔓延遍我的心，让我感慨万千。当然以后肯定有机会再看的，考过了试不代表任务完成了，呵呵。最后把全部书都整整齐齐地放到书架上，我要把它们都珍藏起来。
本来今天想好好休息一下,可是想到还要上交的一篇作文没完成,还是把它完成了,不能因为任何借口而中途放弃的,呵呵
Topic: So much is new and complex today that looking back for an understanding of the past provides little guidance for living in the present.
With the rapid evolvement of our civilization is our increasingly developing society. Under the powerful push of our technology, our living behaviors become more and more diverse and our society is being exposed to a growing range of cultures and values, which makes it newer and more complex than ever before! Our views and conceptions have altered greatly from the past, becoming more and more updated and sensible! We have got rid of a lot of conventional and obsolete so-called-wisdom-then concepts that was once deeply rooted in antiquity’s minds! Our current society is flourishing with blooming innovative ideas and notions!
Definitely, no one can deny the great divergence between the current society and the previous ones! However, does this divergence necessarily mean that the past rules and regulations become totally impractical to us? Does it inevitably comply that learning and studying the past is thoroughly valueless to our present practices? I dare not assent to this over-absolute assertion. As a matter of fact, I firmly believe that we can harvest a lot from learning the past to guide our current life! Below is my detailed elucidation!
On the one hand, as many people deem, history is really a mirror to our present reality that can reflect all the goods and evils and alarm the bell of conscience in our heart! Through learning history, we can draw a clear picture of the past and learn a big lesson from it! For instance, we will never forget the past century when China was invaded and insulted by the powerful countries then, nor will we forget the Second World War during which Japanese army occupied our territory truculently and slaughtered numerous inculpable lives! The blood-smelt slaughtering scene of Nanjing is still vividly displayed in our mind however distantly it has gone by! With eyes closed, we can still heart the Chinese people’s miserable cries and screams begging the enemies for sparing their lives, which ultimately turned out to be futility. After the Second World War, we draw a big lesson from the painful past and try to eliminate wars in the world! Nowadays, peace and development have been reckoned as the two great themes in the current world! The majority of citizens all over the world are in pursuit of stable life and permanent peace. Though there are still some developed countries still suppress some developing countries and interfere with their sovereignty resorting to their powerful economy and army strength, we have indeed made a great stride! None of the countries dare launch widespread war like the Second World War easily! Based on this case, it is obvious learning the past can really conduce to the development of our current society!
On the other hand, obsolete and conventional as a lot of ideas in the old time are, they does contribute tremendously to our updated and correct notions in the present! The wheel of society never ceases its spinning, the process of which is undoubtedly full of rights and wrongs! Even something was right then may turn out to be wrong due to the nonstop-changing situation. Only by studying and learning the advantages and disadvantages of the past concepts can we finally figure out the up-to-date one for the present! Only by the comparison between the tough past and the promising present can we realize how fortunate and happy we are and cherish our lives! We may get to know how difficult it is for us to get where we are, and how easy it is for us to lose what we already have! Hence, a full understanding of the past does provide enormous guidance for the living in the present!
To sum up, I oppose to the assertion in the topic and strongly suggest all of us should go out of our way to learn the past and acquire more instructions and guidance from it! |
