今天晓惠和她的一个同学来深大租房子，明天要考日语一级。中午和她们还有玉珍吃了饭就去了找宾馆，好不容易找到了，大家就一起去了天虹商场。我实在太兴奋了，因为好久好久没有逛过商场了，似乎看到什么都想买，可是想想自己目前的财政状况还是削减了很多不必要的开支，呵呵。回到宿舍累坏了，又睡了好久。今天又是开心的一天！有同学朋友的日子真是好！
英语角下周日就要举行本学期的闭幕式了，因为期末到了，大家都要复习了，我也一样。我们下学期还会继续的！呵呵！想起一个学期以来王曾老师对我们英语角的帮助，我忍不住要写一封信感谢他，下面就是我写给他的信！祝他身体健康，工作顺利！

Dear Mr Wang,
This is my first time to write letter to you in English. If my English is somewhat awkward, please forgive me! hehe!
Actually I am writing to you not for special purpose, but to express my great gratitude towards you for what you have done for our English corner! As I have mentioned before, maybe you think what you do is just a piece of cake for yourself, but is literally a powerful push to our English corner.
I still remember the very beginning of my English corner. As a matter of fact, I had attended the English corner held by the English association in our school twice before I launched my own. After two unforgettable experiences, I realized a great shortcoming of that English corner. That is they have no permanent host to guide the attendees with given topics. Each time students there just gather around loosely and chat about a lot of trivial affairs such as their majors, hometown, etc. definitely, we need to share with one another our own situations and experience, but more importantly, I think, we need to have various topics each time we practice so as to cultivate our insightful and critical thinking. If we get together to chat with the same issue each time, however perfect we can express ourselves, it is meaningless. Why? As far as I see, a truly good English speaker can chat with others fluently in any aspect of our life, including education, economy, politics and so on! If we can chat about nothing but our familiar topics, like our study, we are not a good master of oral English.
This is the initial motivation for me to establish my own English corner which is characterized with specific topics with the aids of our updated facilities in our Arts Building. In my English corner, students, undoubtedly, have two or three diversified topics to talk about, which are displayed one after another through our projector. Moreover, we can sit in the cool and cozy classrooms to conduct our other activities such as listening practice, song sharing, poem sharing, translating competition, role-playing, public-opinion-expressing, etc. Students here can make full use of our up-to-date equipment to touch English more deeply. They are not merely practicing their oral English! Meantime, they are realizing, digging and finally appreciating the glamorous charm of English! Take song sharing for instance. Not only can we enjoy the melody of the song, but also we can further interpret the content and its buried spirit or emotion through my elucidation! Of course, opinion towards a song varies from person to person. Each person can have his own understanding individually, and my understanding is not always precise. But the most important thing is that we can share! Through sharing, we can learn more from others and our love towards English will go farther and farther!
Another positive respect of our English corner is that it perfectly provides a great platform for English lovers to make friends with each other and set up a long-term practicing relationship in the future. Besides speaking proudly in our English corner, they can do the same in their daily life through dating at a certain time of the week. It is not only the stage for practicing, but also a stage for friends-making!
As far as I am concerned, I do benefit tremendously from the corner. It has developed my organizing and management skills. Furthermore, the procedure of preparing for the corner is also the process of learning! I need to single out the materials delicately in order to attract and retain my attendees. After that, I need to get considerably familiar with the materials so that I can handle them in the English corner orderly and smoothly. This is a big stride of my English improvement! Moreover, as I am the host, I need to speak a lot on the stage facing large audience! This enormously enhances my courage to deliver a public speech as well as perfecting my spoken English! Now I never feel the slightest nervousness when speaking publicly!
Altogether, English corner is authentically a marvelous place with countless advantages but without even one disadvantage. I will surely carry on holding it unless I have to leave school after graduation! But I will not allow it to be extinguished. I will pass their seemingly small but actually great mission to my selected candidate. Hehe!
However, now the final exam is impending day after day, and all the students, including me, need to bend over backwards to go over our lessons and combat with the finals. Hence the English corner for next week will be the last one for this semester! Next term we will carry on coloring our persistent dream!
Thank you again for the favor you have done for me! I hopefully believe with your consistent and enthusiastic support, our English corner will wheel on and on to its culmination!
