超萌天后小娜妹Rihanna背书力荐，集结美貌、歌艺与创作才华于一身的新生代节奏蓝调歌姬Shontelle，将属于异国岛屿的雷鬼情调融入其中，包裹甜美不腻的温暖嗓音，散发节拍性十足的律动，Shontelle是难以忽视的才气实力女歌手。
和蕾哈娜同出生于英属西印度群岛之一的巴佩道斯岛，全名Shontelle Layne的Shontelle，从小是品学兼优的学生，更可发挥无比运动细胞，是人人称羡、能动能静的才艺美少女。虽然深爱歌唱，但爸妈却不认为表演艺术是份有前景的稳定工作，不过Shontelle的阿姨也是当地知名艺人Kim Derrick，却不断鼓励她坚持并追寻梦想。上了大学，一边学习法律，一边着手创作，在好友蕾哈娜引荐下，Shontelle慢慢跟音乐界有所接触，2005年替Alison Hinds谱写“Roll It Gal”，并于2007年全球发行，陆续征服纽约、迈阿密、英欧等各国排行榜，Shontelle因此更笃定自己未来的方向，随即和环球音乐集团签下合约，成为蕾哈娜师妹，并筹备录制个人专辑。
