给自己加满水

一艘大型货船卸货后返航，在海上突然遇到了可怕的风暴。水手们惊慌失措，老船长果断地命令水手立刻打开船舱，往里面灌水。“船长是不是疯了，往里面灌水只会增加船的压力，使船下沉，这不是自寻死路吗？”一个年轻的水手嘟囔。看到船长严厉的脸色，水手们还是照做了。
A large cargo ship, after unloading, encountered a horrible storm at sea. All sailors fell into great panic and the old captain decisively ordered them to open all the cabins to allow more water in. “Are you crazy? If we open the cabins, more water will flush into the ship that will pressure the ship to sink! It is nothing other than suicide!” A young sailor yelled. But seeing the captain’s austere face, they still exercised his order.
随着货舱里的水位越升越高，随着船一寸一寸地下沉，狂风巨浪对船的威胁却一点一点地减少，货轮渐渐平稳了。船长望着松了一口气的水手们说：“万吨巨轮很少有被打翻的，被打翻的常常是根基轻的小船，船负重时，是最安全的，空船则是最危险的。”
As the water level in the cabins rose and the ship sank inch by inch, the dreadful storm and waves posed less and less menace to the ship that gradually recovered stability. Seeing every sailor relieve, the captain said, “A huge full-loaded ship is seldom tipped by the storm, while those empty small ship is opposite. When the ship is heavy, it is the safest. An empty ship is the most dangerous.”
在某山区的着名旅游景点，有一段路被当地人称为“鬼谷”。路窄坡陡，两边是万丈深渊。每到此地时，导游们都要叫游客们适当背点或扛点什么东西。“这么危险的地方，我不拿东西两腿都打颤，再负重前行，那不是更危险吗？”游客不理解。导游小姐嫣然一笑，解释道：“这里发生过好几起事故，都是迷路的游客在毫无压力的情况下一不小心掉下去的。当地人每天都从这条路上挑着东西来来往往，却从来没有人出事。你负重前行，反而会更安全。”
In a famous tourist resort in a mountainous area, there was a pathway called “Ghost Valley” by the locals. The path was very steep and narrow suspending over formidable abyss. Every time before the tourists came across the pathway, the tourist guide would ask them to carry or shoulder something. “It is such a dangerous place that I feel my legs trembling even though I do not take anything! If I carry something with me, isn’t it more dangerous?” the tourists asked. The lady guide smiled and said, “There have been several accidents here in the past. Some tourist who got lost fell into the abyss without any pressure. The local people carry various things across this path but none of them has ever met accidents. Therefore, if you carry something when walking on this path, you are indeed safer.”
这就是“压力效应”。那些胸怀大志，又身背沉甸甸责任感的人，才能从岁月和历史的风雨中坚定地走过“鬼谷”。而那些得过且过，没有一点压力，做一天和尚撞一天钟的人，像风暴中没有载货的船，往往一场人生的狂风巨浪便会把他们打翻。
This is what we call “Pressure Effect”. Only those who are ambitious and shoulder loads of responsibilities can walk through the “Ghost Valley” of their lives through rains and storms. However, those who muddle along and do not have the least pressure will be tipped over by the storms in life just like a ship without any cargo in the stormy weather at sea. |
