Many people think that their companies are so terrible that they are forced to leave the company. However, to my mind, unless your work environment cannot be any worse, it is far more important for you to adapt to it rather than change it. It tends to take several months to adapt to the work environment, work atmosphere and corporate culture in your company. After this integration time, most people will gradually get used to the work environment and unfold their talents to their boss and colleagues. Maybe you will feel puzzled why your salary has still not been promoted after staying in the company for a long time. Actually, one will fall into an assessment period before they get promoted or get a higher salary. If you are performing well in your work and getting well with your boss and colleagues while you still have not got promoted or a higher salary, then you must be staying in the assessment period. None of the bosses would like to promote or give higher salary to a wrong employee because an unqualified manager will cause more harm to the company than an average employee. Therefore, what you need to do is wait patiently for another period of time.
I have ever heard of a story. Employee A felt that his work could not be more terrible and his boss was considerably harsh with him and did not respect him. Moreover, his colleagues often made fun of him giddily. Therefore, he complained to his friend B, “I must leave this damn company.”
B supported him and said, “Yes, you should leave this company for revenge. But it is not the time now.”
A felt confused, “Why?”
B said, “If you leave now, the company will not suffer a great loss. You should do your utmost to enlarge your clientele and accumulate more work experience when you are still in the company. Then you can take all your clients from this company when you leave, making the company feel awfully regretful ultimately.”
A felt it reasonable and began to work very hard and finally had a great pool of clients. B said to him, “Now you can leave.” But A smiled and said, “My boss is going to promote me to be the CEO secretary, so I am not going to leave now.”
Actually, oftentimes, we cannot achieve our ideal targets not because of the company or colleagues but because of ourselves. So long as you are willing to change and determined to change, many problems can be tackled and you have not any excuse to change your job. Hence, instead of changing your job to evade the difficulty you encounter, why not just confront and address it?
