A Story in my Family
There existed a man who was assaulted by a disease called apoplexy several years ago .There are three people in his family ,including his wife ,his little son ,and he .I still remember when he was young he had suffered from the pain .In spite of his serious illness ,he still a man who was positive and brave .He was also industrious and frugal because of the family’s poverty and big burden .He was regard as a normal person by his family so that he had his own farming work that is to put his cattle out to the pasture .Everything went normally .He still put the cattle out to the pasture on time as usual .However ,he never knew something bad were waiting for him .It was a cold day in harsh winter ,with thick mist and drizzle .He went out with a straw rain cape on. On arriving at the destination ,he made a fire in order to make out himself warmer .All of a sudden ,he had an apoplectic stroke out of the blue .Quickly ,his body started to twitch out of his control .There was no other people out of the wilderness on such a cold and wet day ,so for a long time ,nobody came to rescue him .He twitched much fiercer.Unfortunately ,he dropped on the ground and touched the fire .Naturally ,his strew rain cape caught fire .He couldn’t get rid of the fire by himself .What he could do was only to struggle bitterly .You cannot imagine how miserable he was at that time .Actually ,I don’t know how he rescued himself at last .Maybe ,it’s the rain that put out the fire .Maybe ,it’s himself that saved him when he fought against the disease as well as the fire .Who knew ?I only remember when I saw him that day ,he lied on his bed ,covered with muds and burns .He breathed deeply ,with a painful expression .
From then on ,he became a disabled man because his left leg got burnt seriously .He couldn’t move as a normal person any more ,but what surprised people was that his belief moved as before .He believed if he left this world ,his family couldn’t make a living .Therefor ,he never gave up ,instead ,he insisted on walking by his right leg ,and as usual ,he did some farming work .
The story is over ,but my grandfather’s sigh continues. The man is my grandfather’s brother ,who passed away due to some other disease several years ago .
